How many hours do your employees spend each week on Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites?
A UK survey found that 57% of employees spent 40 minutes a week on average on nonbusiness activities on these sites.
The eight minutes a day per worker may be a minor time waster, but could grow into a problem.
Suggestions: Keep tabs on worker performance to make sure it isn't suffering from social networking distractions.
If extreme measures are warranted, you can block access using resources such as SurveilStar.
