The Minority Chamber of Commerce Hosts Regional Procurement Expo for Small, Minority and Women-Owned Businesses

Miami, Florida. (April 1, 2010) – The Minority Chamber of Commerce announced their 9th year event, “Minority Contractors Expo & Conferences Miami 2010”, a regional procurement exposition. The event will be on Tuesday April 13, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Double Tree Miami Mart located at 711 NW 72 Avenue in Miami Dade County, Florida. The event is open to the public.

"I encourage all minority and women-owned business who are interested in procurement and other business opportunities to attend," said Doug Mayorga, National Director for Minority Chamber. “Businesses can learn about upcoming procurement opportunities with governments and private projects as 595 Road extension in Broward County, Florida Marlins Ball Park in Miami Dade, the high speed passenger Train Project,  and other opportunities with agencies from Broward, Palm Beach and Miami Dade Counties”

Participants will include purchasing officials, occupational business licensee’s representative, grants and loan opportunities. The agenda will feature a guest speaker representing a successful woman-owned business, a brief workshop on how to prepare effective responses to government requests for proposals, and, most importantly, an opportunity to network with approximately 25 purchasing officials representing approximately seven municipalities, all in one location.

The Minority Chamber of Commerce: is a non-profit organization which grew out of a task force of Minority business owners in 1991 alarmed over the low participation in the private and public sector. The association was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1991. And its mission is to promote Minority Business interest and its economic development and expansion through strategic partnerships, technical assistance and advocacy.
