Upcoming Education Stakeholders Forum, Friday, October 22nd, 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.

Dear Colleagues,

The Department is hosting the next Education Stakeholders Forum this Friday, October 22nd, 2010, from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m., in the LBJ Building’s Barnard Auditorium (400 Maryland Avenue, SW, in Washington, DC).

The forum will feature some time with Secretary Duncan, and ED senior staff members will be on hand to discuss the next steps for Race to the Top grantees, the Promise Neighborhood and Teacher Incentive Fund investments, and the launch of the TEACH campaign.  In addition, the agenda will include an overview of the grants recently awarded to the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) and the SMARTER Balanced Assessment Consortia (SBAC) to improve student assessments, a key component of the Race to the Top program.

As always, there will be ample opportunity for audience Q&A.  To register, please send your name, title, and organization to EDstakeholder@ed.gov; after registering, you will receive a confirmation e-mail in response.

I hope you will make plans to join us.
