Friends,
Good afternoon. I’m excited to share the news that the Obama Administration will be hosting a National Youth Summit on Saturday, February 26, 2011 here in Washington, DC. We invite you to join!
The purpose of the summit will be to galvanize young people to shape strategies to provide pathways for all youth – those who are in middle and high school as well as those who are out of work, out of school and out of the mainstream – to be on track to achieve high school and postsecondary credentials.
The summit will share what students have told the Department of Education to date, provide additional youth the opportunity to give input, provide opportunities to communicate their views and ideas directly to senior administration officials, and allow students to plan ongoing youth-led, youth-directed efforts which will continue after the summit.
For more information on how to participate, please click here, or go to www.ed.gov/college-completion/youth-summit
Thanks,
William O. Jawando
