National Funding Opportunities

Support for Environmental Health Programs
The Kresge Foundation: Healthy Environments
The Kresge Foundation’s Healthy Environments grant program seeks to advance environmental protection for those living in at-risk communities, especially those affected by pollution, chemical exposure, and other toxic hazards. The following two initiatives are open for application: Cleaner Freight Transport addresses the health effects of diesel exhaust particulate matter on low-income communities and workers employed at truck, rail, air, and shipping facilities. Environmental Health and Justice funds both community engagement efforts and partnerships among scientific, legal, and government organizations to address imminent environmental health hazards affecting vulnerable populations and communities. Grants ranging from $100,000 to $750,000 are provided for regional and statewide efforts that have the potential to achieve broad change by shifting current practices. Preliminary applications for these two initiatives may be submitted at any time. Visit the Foundation’s website to review the application guidelines.
