What you get: Being a part of this competition will give you access to specialized in-person workshops (free) and webinars (at a cost) from Business Development Professionals and Experts that will assist you in maximizing your chances of success in starting a business and minimize your risk! More important, a very good chance of winning $10,000 towards your start-up business. What are the prizes? Three winners will receive $10,000 each in seed funding awards for developing a business plan and launching their business in Queens. The three award categories are: -Innovative Business Award – A business creating something new, something better, serving an under-served or new market, creation of a new delivery system or distribution channel, has increased integration, or provides a solution to a problem. -Food-based Business Award – A business with its main activity being the creation and/or sale of a food product as a wholesaler, manufacturer, or storefront business. -Social Enterprise Award – A for-profit venture which creates a Social and/or Environmental Impact. Business must be able to quantify both a social/environmental impact as well as its financial sustainability. Business must prove why the For-Profit Model is better than a non-profit model. In addition, winners will receive membership to the Queens Chamber of Commerce and assistance from Webline Designs.
