Cyber Monday (the first Monday after the unofficial start of the holiday shopping season after Thanksgiving) started in 2005 as the online counterpart to Black Friday. Since then, online sales have grown significantly. Predictions for Cyber Monday 2012: a 15.2% increase over 2011, with sales around $1.44 billion.
